Book Review: Scumble by Ingrid Law

January 19, 2012

Scumble is the companion/sequel to Savvy. Ledger Kale is the central character and he has just turned 13, the magic age.  In Ledger’s family they each develop their own particular “Savvy” on their 13th birthday.  A savvy is a special out of the ordinary kind of talent… like, being able to move the earth maybe, or jump back in time when you sneeze, or control electricity or water… The possibilities are endless.  And can be scary and dangerous until you learn to properly Scumble them.  This book is such a fun read.  Ingrid Law’s words are colorful and cute and a little poetic.  And I kind of wish I had a Savvy.
